 "description": "La banque de données \"Localisation des émissaires municipaux\" (LEM) contient les coordonnées géographiques des points de rejet des eaux usées municipales dans le milieu aquatique, qu'elles soient traitées ou non. L'information technique sur les stations d'épuration provient des données du MAMROT qui incluentquelques cas de stations de traitement d'eaux usées industrielles (abattoir, agroalimentaire, parc industriel), suivies parce que leur rejet emprunte le même émissaire que celui de la station de traitement municipale pour se déverser au cours d'eau (sauf exception). La majorité des émissaires municipaux déverse une eau préalablement traitée par une station d'épuration. Cependant, la banque de données LEM inclut également l'emplacement de rejets municipaux non traités, ceux de stations construites en dehors des divers programmes d'assainissement des eaux (PAE) non suivies par le MAMROT ainsi que quelques rejets provenant de stations de traitement privées.
